Curated and coordinated by AA2A resident artist Leila Houston, assistant & AA2A student representative Leanne Franks, Chiara Enzo and DMU Fine Art Alumna Freya Willett.
Presenting an exciting collaboration of the AA2A Artists - Harris Chapman, Leila Houston and Alex Brady, exhibiting work produced whilst residents at De Montfort University, together with high quality, curated artwork by students from the Design Crafts and Fine Art degree programmes.
For our first Art Trail, work from over 30 artists and crafters, including artists on the AA2A placement and De Montfort University students, will be shown across Leicester. The work includes painting and drawing, ceramics, video, textiles, photography, projection, sound, furniture, sculpture and installation, so is going to be an exciting display and array.
“ The aim of organising this event and exhibition is to bring all communities together and introduce new venues and art which, to some, have never been experienced before. Both local practicing artists and selected students from De Montfort University hope to strengthen and support the creative culture present in Leicester. The Summer Art Trail hopes also to provide art students a chance to be involved with excellent art organisations locally as well as the experience of working collectively with over forty fellow artists and creators.
